Australian side the Victoria Bushrangers will have the services of BLACKCAPS batsman Ross Taylor as a guest player in their KFC Twenty20 “Big Bash” competition opener tomorrow (Monday 28 December).

Taylor has been signed as a guest player for the match, at the Gabba in Brisbane, and will also be available for the Bushrangers if they qualify for the preliminary final on 19 January.

Taylor will be holidaying in Queensland at the time of the match on the 28th. His appearance for the Bushrangers has been cleared by his Central Districts association. He will take up his duties with the Central Stags in time for the HRV Cup Twenty20 competition in the New Year.

NZC Chief Executive Justin Vaughan said the guest appearance was a great opportunity for Taylor. “The fact that Ross was over there on holiday, and was approached by Victoria – it’s an ideal chance for him to get a taste of another big international competition,” said Vaughan. “NZC is comfortable about releasing him as there is no conflict with his domestic commitments.”
