Payroll Giving to Give Koru Care More Opportunities
Koru Care NZ, like many other New Zealand charities is pleased to finally see Payroll Giving introduced in New Zealand.
As of 7 January Payroll Giving will allow employees to nominate a charity of their choice to directly donate from their pay. For employees this will mean they are able to immediately claim the tax rebate from the donation made.
Prior to the introduction employees had to wait until the end of the financial year to claim the rebate, now this is will be a thing of the past with the rebate of 33.3% can be able to be claimed as soon as the donation is made.
The introduction of Payroll Giving will give Koru Care the opportunity to build long lasting relationships with donors and give another source of funding. This will help with the cost of the annual trips to Disneyland and the Gold Cost for children with ongoing medical conditions, terminal illnesses and other life changing situations.
Until now Koru Care has relied on the generosity of the public through annual fundraising efforts, the generosity of Southern Stars Charitable Trust and others to help with the cost of these trips.
Ann Bain, Chairperson of Koru Care NZ said “We are pleased that we will now be able to welcome regular donations from employees who may have not been otherwise been able to make contributions to help with these all important life changing trips for our children.”
Koru Care NZ was formed over 25 years ago by staff from Air New Zealand who wanted to help children in the community. This support still continues today with staff donating their time to help at fundraising events or as caregivers on our dream holidays.
