Former BLACKCAP and now Gloucestershire player Hamish Marshall is returning to the Northern Knights to play the remainder of the summer, following the completion of the HRV Cup.

“We have signed Hamish as an overseas player, but I think everyone knows the reality is he is one of us," says Northern Districts Cricket CEO David Cooper. "Given our current position in the Plunket Shield, and that the business end of the one day competition is coming up, Hamish will be a welcome addition."

Marshall will join the Knights for the three remaining round robin matches in the domestic one day competition and the associated finals, then play the final five rounds of the Plunket Shield - a competition the Knights currently lead.

“While England is currently my home, my family and many of my friends are in New Zealand and it is always a pleasure playing my cricket in front of them," says Hamish Marshall.

His twin brother James is the Knights' captain.

Marshall lands in New Zealand on January 31.
