The following coaches have been named to take up positions supporting the Rio 2016 Performance Project.

There are three levels of positions aligned with the current quality of athletes and events.

The coaches will be charged not only with the support of individual athletes and their coaches, but also with improving the status of the respective events

David Long 4 x 400m Relay (Asst.)

Terry Lomax, Rio 2016 Performance Project Manager, said “I’m very pleased with the blend of experienced and emerging coaches who have been appointed. It is an exciting time for the sport. The support of SPARC has meant our Performance Development can be accelerated and the appointment of these coaches is a vital step towards achieving our goals of Top 16 places at the Olympics in 2016.”

The first duties for the coaches is attending the forthcoming Rio 2016 performance Camp held in conjunction with the re-established Young Olympians Camp In Wanganui 24 – 27 January.
