Rona Bay reopened today

Rona Bay in Eastbourne has reopened today after tests confirmed the water no longer poses a public health risk.

The beach was closed last Friday after routine testing revealed a high level of bacteria in the water.

Investigations by Capacity and Greater Wellington Regional Council have not been able to determine the cause of last week’s unusually high reading.

During the summer months (1 November to 31 March) the water quality of all Eastbourne bays is tested weekly.
