Upgrades to the upper end of Normandale Road are set to benefit residents and road users by delivering a widened road, continuous kerb and footpath, improved storm water drainage, road marking and signage.

Mayor David Ogden is pleased work is to get underway.

“Council is committed to improving the city’s road and footpath network and this is an example of that commitment.”

Sections of road are currently below standard, with a lack of road width, tight corners, poor visibility and no footpaths.

The upgrade is particularly aimed at improving the safety and servicing problems on the section of road from Poto Road to 126 Normandale Road.

Work will start in March and is expected to take three to four months.
