This week Annual Appeal Week is taking place from 8-14 February 2010, with the National Street Appeal Collection Day on Friday 12 February.

Also kicking off today is an exciting collaboration between the Heart Foundation and Mr Vintage with the launch of a new Jump Rope for Heart t-shirt.

It is the most recent addition to Mr Vintage’s ChartiTees range, which collaborates with charities and increases their exposure to a modern and funky target market.

Melanie Michels, Communications Assistant at Mr Vintage, says the ChariTees range began a few years ago when the business was in a position to ‘give back’ and be more socially responsible.

“Mr Vintage’s t-shirt range is based around vintage Kiwiana culture. For this project, we thought the Jump Rope for Heart t-shirt, with the logo from the mid 90s, would really relate and appeal to our audience.

“We design a t-shirt that works with our audience too and this is something that almost every Kiwi in our target demographic remembers from their primary school days.

“So far, the feedback has been fantastic. Comments on our Facebook and Twitter sites attest to the fact that people remember Jump Rope for Heart from their schooling years,” says Melanie.

Alistair Kirk, Marketing Manager at the Heart Foundation, says the timing of the collaboration between Mr Vintage and the Heart Foundation couldn’t be better.

“I am very excited at the prospect of the t-shirts being available today, the Heart Foundation’s Annual Street Appeal Day, as well as over the weekend, until the end of this year’s Annual Appeal Week.

“This is excellent promotion for the Heart Foundation to a huge database of difficult to reach 18-30 somethings and a great example of business organisations seeking us out to help out where they can.

“It’s a great way for young New Zealanders to become more aware and support the life-saving work the Heart Foundation does on an annual basis and get something really cool in return,” says Alistair.

The design is being printed today and is available online over the entire weekend. It will be priced at $19.95, with 15% of the sales going to the Heart Foundation.

Visit www.mrvintage.co.nz ASAP as these will not be available past Monday lunchtime.

The Heart Foundation is the charity that works to stop New Zealanders dying prematurely from heart disease.
