Get in the game with new Gillette Fusion Gamer, combining substance and style for Gillette’s most comfortable shave, even against the grain.

The Gillette Fusion Gamer was designed with style-seekers in mind, inspired by the latest white trend used in many hi-tech gadgets like ipods and Macs.

Gamer features a white, high gloss handle with bright blue accents and advanced blade technology on the front and back of a single shaving cartridge to help you look and feel your best.

According to shaving expert Lesley McGrath, the unique five-blade suspension system in Gillette Fusion Gamer is designed to provide total comfort even if you’re one of those guys who consistently shaves against the grain.

“In many cases, skin irritation during or after shaving can be put down to incorrect or rushed technique. Whether it’s the first or thousandth time, many men are not aware of the simple ways they can achieve a more comfortable shave,” says McGrath.

“New Gillette Fusion Gamer has been designed to help minimise the impact of shaving against the grain – a common shaving mistake made by men of all ages and experience,” she says.

This latest addition to the popular Fusion range coincides with new Gillette research* which studied the shaving habits of Australian men. Almost half (48%) of those surveyed admitted to shaving against the grain, which experts say can trigger discomfort and irritation if the right tools are not used.

Key features & benefits:

· Gillette Fusion Gamer and Gillette Fusion Power Gamer feature 5-blade Shaving Surface ™ technology on the front and back of the shaving cartridge. The blades are spaced closer together to help reduce pressure for a more comfortable shave[1].
· A Precision Trimmer blade – a single blade built into the back of the cartridge – allows men to easily trim sideburns, shave under the nose and shape facial hair.
· Gillette Fusion Power Gamer delivers soothing micropulses that help reduce friction and increase razor glide. When the power turns on, the razor moves so effortlessly, the blades are barely detectable.
· Gillette Fusion Power Gamer’s handle features an onboard microchip that helps optimize the razor’s performance.
· The Flexible Comfort Guard follows the contours of the face to help the 5-Blade Shaving Surface™ comfortably shave closer.
· An Enhanced Indicator Lubrastrip fades from blue to white, signalling when shave conditions are no longer optimal.

Get in the game with these top shaving tips:

· Shower or bathe before your shave. Wash your face and neck with Gillette Series Pre-Shave Scrub. Although beard hair is as tough as copper wire, applying warm water cause hair to expand, making it softer and easier to cut. The force required to cut beard hair is reduced by almost 70 percent after a two-minute application of warm water.
· Apply plenty of shave gel. While water is the essential softening agent, the water absorbed by hair quickly evaporates leaving the hair in its original rigid state. Gillette Series Shave Gels provide a protective blanket that helps prevent the evaporation of water and keeps the hair soft during shaving.
· Use a light touch. Use light, gentle strokes when shaving. The Gillette Fusion Gamer gives total comfort without skin irritation, even against the grain. Rinse the blades frequently to prevent the build up of hairs and shaving gel on the blade edges and in the cartridge.
· Shave hard to reach spots last. Shave the cheeks, side of the face and neck first. The toughest hairs grow on the chin and around the lips. Shave these areas last, as more time soaking in shaving gel will soften the hair further.
· After the shave. After shaving, rinse your face and neck with cool water and pat dry. Always use an after-the-shave preparation such as the Gillette Series After-the-Shave Moisturiser to help hydrate and soothe the skin.

The Gillette Fusion Gamer Manual (RRP $13.59) and Gillette Fusion Power Gamer (RRP $18.88) will be available in New Zealand from late March 2010 at leading outlets.
