As part of its on-going commitment to actively seek public opinion and involvement, the Hutt City Council is to conduct a survey of its residents.

“We want to track how well our efforts are carrying through to our residents. To do this we will interview a representative cross-section of residents and have this done independently to ensure impartiality,” Mayor David Ogden said.

People living in all six wards of the city will be telephoned, using a randomised selection method, and asked their opinions on a wide ranging list of services and issues pertaining to the Council, from public toilets and sports grounds to the performance of the mayor and councillors and how rates are spent.

National Research Bureau, an independent research company, has been commissioned to undertake the survey and report to the Council.

The survey commences on Friday 5th March, and is expected to be completed on Sunday 14th March.
