· We have made contact with most of our staff in Concepcion, the city worst affected by last weekend’s earthquake in Chile.

· We’re still concerned about the 15 staff we have not been able to contact. Now that we have access to Concepcion we have teams on the ground trying to locate them at their homes.

· Our teams have GPS navigation sets, water, food, and fuel. They are liaising with local authorities to find out where in the city they can travel safely, and are applying for exemption from the curfew so they are able to operate around the clock.

· The situation in Concepcion is under better control but it remains in military rule and a state of emergency. Large parts of the city have been badly damaged.

· Soprole management are now moving to identify where we can support our Chilean staff and their immediate families who are suffering the effects of earthquake damage.

· This advisory will be updated as the situation changes.

· Fonterra, through its subsidiary Soprole, employs around 1,800 people in Chile.

· Soprole has a head office in Santiago, four manufacturing sites at San Bernardo, Los Angeles, Osorno, and Los Lagos, nine regional distribution centres, and eight transport centres around the country.
