Youth Court Judge Becroft at HB Futures Seminar
Judge Andrew Becroft, Principal Youth Court Judge, will be speaking at Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s next Embracing Futures Thinking breakfast seminar on Thursday 25 March.
A strong advocate for youth issues, Judge Becroft will discuss ten issues facing young people today from the Youth Court’s perspective and how to respond to them.
Youth issues are an important factor for Hawke’s Bay moving ahead as a thriving, sustainable community, and youth crime is of particular concern. Judge Becroft will have some important messages of relevance to social services providers, business and local authorities. The Regional Council has already received strong interest from secondary schools to attend this event.
The Embracing Futures Thinking breakfast seminar series has been developed by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council to lead discussion on future plans for the region, and its economy, environment, culture and people.
It has attracted top New Zealand thinkers and commentators such as Justice Joe Williams and Moana Jackson on Treaty issues, and economist Rod Oram on Hawke’s Bay’s place in the global economy.
People wanting to attend this event at the War Memorial Centre in Napier can reserve places with Hawke’s Bay Regional Council phone 833 8075. The cost is $15.00.
