Expo held as feedback sought on Proposed Annual Plan
Hamilton City Council’s Proposed 2010/11 Annual Plan is now open for public submissions, with residents invited to learn more about the proposed plan during the Your City Expo this Saturday [27 March].
Held at The Grandstand, Claudelands from 9am-1pm, the expo will be an opportunity for residents to talk to Council staff and elected members about current and upcoming projects in a casual environment, and ask any questions. Amongst the topics being displayed will be boundary changes, information about rates and re-evaluations, and key issues identified through the review of the city’s District Plan.
Hamilton mayor Bob Simcock, who will present an overview of the Annual Plan at Your City Expo at 12.30pm, encourages all residents to attend.
“The Your City Expo is your chance to get bite-sized chunks of information about the areas that interest you from the key staff who are working on and managing current and upcoming projects, and from those who have been elected to make decisions on your behalf,” he said.
This year the Your City Expo will have a strong family focus, with children able to enjoy the nearby playground and free ice creams will be on offer. Dog owners are also encouraged to bring along their pooches – with an agility display to be hosted by the Waikato Agility Group (WAG) and an opportunity for the public to test their own dogs’ skills on some of the equipment.
Submissions for the Proposed 2010/11 Annual Plan close on Friday, 23 April 2010. A summary of the proposed plan will be delivered to all Hamilton households shortly.
