Investors and Dunedin businesses looking for investment will benefit from the visit next week of Bill Payne, one of the United States’ most decorated Angel investors.

Mr Payne is in Dunedin from 7-9 April, transferring his experience, knowledge, and US network to entrepreneurs, universities, and investors. He is being hosted in Dunedin by the Economic Development Unit of the Dunedin City Council and Upstart Business Incubator. Mr Payne is in New Zealand as part of the BNZ University of Auckland Business School entrepreneur-in-residence programme.

In 25 years, Mr Payne has invested in more than 50 companies, mentored hundreds, and founded four angel networks. In recognition of his contributions, Mr. Payne was awarded the 2009 Hans Serveriens Award, the US Angel Capital Association’s highest honour.

In addition to Mr Payne meeting with many start-up businesses and presenting a lecture as part of the University of Otago Masters of Entrepreneurship programme, he will address Angel Investors and the Institute of Directors at a function on Wednesday evening. The public can hear him speak at the University of Otago School of Business lecture theatre CO203 at 1.30pm on Friday 9 April.
