New Zealand expert trichologist Nigel Russell says men require products specifically tailored to their needs, rather than grabbing whatever is in the shower caddy.

“Strong conditioning agents will be needed to help prevent split ends and hair breakage. In contrast, men with short hair benefit more from conditioning agents that are light and will not weigh the hair down.”

Nigel Russell Biography
Nigel has been a hairdresser for 30 years during which time he owned a successful Sydney salon. He became involved in teaching young stylists and doing platform demonstrations around Australia.
Realising the importance of trichology in 1985 Nigel trained extensively and became a certified trichologist in 1992. He was elected chairperson of the International Association of Trichologists in 1998 and president in 1999.
