2010 ANZ Championship Media Awards - nominations now open

Nominations are now open for the 2010 ANZ Championship Media Awards.

The Awards were introduced in 2009, to celebrate the quality, breadth and insight of media reporting of the ANZ Championship.

Now in its third year, the ANZ Championship has rapidly established itself as the world’s leading cross-country netball competition. It features five Australian and five New Zealand teams playing 14 home and away rounds, followed by the Finals Series in July.

The ANZ Championship Media Awards are open to all journalists, photographers and broadcasters whose work appeared in the Australian or New Zealand media between 1 March and 16 July 2010.

Awards will be presented in the following categories:

1. Best Print Story
2. Best Online / Electronic Story
3. Best Television News or Feature Story
4. Best Radio Interview or Feature
5. Best Photograph

The winner of each award will receive a cash prize of NZ$1,000.

Last year’s awards attracted 58 entries across the five categories. The winners were Dana Johannsen (The Herald, NZ), Penny Miles (stuff.co.nz), Julie Ash (TVNZ), Peter Walsh (ABC Radio) and Mark Taylor (Waikato Times).

Nominations for the 2010 ANZ Championship Media Awards close on Friday 23 July 2010, with winners to be announced on 4 August.
