Waterway management workshop in Waitahuna

The Otago Regional Council (ORC) is hosting a waterway management workshop in Waitahuna next week.

ORC land resources officer Dylan Robertson said the workshop was likely to be of greatest interest to farmers and small block owners who have waterways on, or near their land.

Topics to be covered at the workshop include the proposed new ORC water strategy, cultivation and sowing of land by waterways, fencing, bridges and planting options and making the best use of your land.

The Waitahuna Waterway management workshop is being held from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Tuesday 27 April on the Aldertons' farm. To get there turn north on State Highway 8 into Lockhart Road and follow it up to the woolshed. All interested are most welcome, Mr Robertson said.
