Annual Plan Coffee Mornings
Queenstown Lakes District Council residents and ratepayers are invited to have a chat about the Draft Annual Plan over a cup of coffee this week.
The QLDC Draft Annual Plan opened for submissions on 17 April, with submissions due to close on 17 May.
“We wanted to have a very informal opportunity for the community to ‘drop in’ and ask any questions they may have about what is proposed before they prepare their submissions,” QLDC deputy chief executive and general manager finance Stewart Burns said.
Copies of the Draft Annual Plan, the Summary Annual Plan and submission forms would be available.
The coffee mornings would be held at the Council office on Ardmore Street in Wanaka tomorrow (Wednesday) from 9-11am and at the Council office on Gorge Road, Queenstown on Thursday morning from 9-11am.
The Council hoped to get a good response in the way of submissions, which was critical to the process.
“We have distributed 25,000 copies of the Summary Annual Plan throughout the district and as a direct mail out to all out-of-town ratepayers. I hope that people will take the time to look at the summary, which is also available on line also, and have their say,” Mr Burns said.
Each submission would be considered by elected members at hearings scheduled for 3 and 4 June.
Summaries were available at www.qldc.govt.nz or at Council offices and libraries.
