twentyone Live N Free presents Cornerstone Roots with DJ Killamanraro this Thursday night

SKYCITY’s hottest bar, twentyone, is presenting Cornerstone Roots with DJ KillaManraro THIS Thursday night (20 May). Entry to the gig is free with entertainment starting at 7pm.

Join Cornerstone Roots for a laid back night of grass roots reggae. An enduring entity within the New Zealand music industry, Cornerstone Roots posses a list of admirable achievements coupled with the fact they have played alongside some of the biggest named reggae artists in the world. The band has remained loyal to their beliefs and their love of true grass roots reggae music.

The band was formed in 2001 after a session at the infamous Raglan Musician’s Club, and consisted of a 3-piece outfit. They quickly developed a strong local following which prompted the band to record their first EP ‘One Fine Day’ and tour provincial New Zealand where cafés were crammed and the live shows were intense.

The coming year is set to be successful for Cornerstone Roots. Production of their third album “Future Is Now” is nearing completion, with the release of the first single ‘New Generation’.

Free, live music is now on every Thursday night at twentyone (located on level 3 of the SKYCITY complex). Over the last several weeks SKYCITY has drawn the crowds to the bar presenting Anna Coddington, Opensouls, Jason Kerrison with T*B*C (The Babysitter’s Club) and Sola Rosa with plenty more top gigs in the pipeline.
