NZU21 Netball Team Named
The Emerging Talent Selection panel today named the NZU21 team to play against the Australian 19 & Under Squad, the Australian Institute of Sport and a touring England U19 Squad in Canberra, 13 – 22 July.
NZU21 coach Janine Southby says the team of 12 has a mix of both previous NZU21 squad players and new players into the National programme. “The trials were highly competitive, with all players contesting strongly for a place in the team with the final 12 selected performing well not only at the trials but also in other competitions over the last year.
“Gaining International experience is crucial for these young players at this stage of their Netball development.” Southby said. “This tour will offer that and will help this exciting group of players push for future National selection as well as places in ANZ Championship sides next season.
