The Cannabis Party are taking a big swipe at the NZ Police over the claim
they are winning the "War on Cannabis".

"Why are Police even fighting a 'War' against NZ Citizens?" asks Cannabis
Party Spokesperson Julian Crawford. "We don't fight wars against other
illegal activities."

More than 450 charges had been laid against 248 people, and more than 9000
cannabis plants stolen from their growers using military helicopters.
Police believe this will win the "War on Cannabis" and reduce the impact of
organised crime.

"This couldn't be further from the truth," says Crawford. "A mere 9000
plants only represents a tiny fraction of the actual number grown. The
operation will increase the value of this remaining cannabis, boosting the
profits of organised crime."

Police also claim that they prevented $25 million in Harm according to the
Drug Harm Index. This index has already been totally discredited by the NZ
Law Commission.

When Justice Minister stated that "there was not a single solitary chance"
that drug laws would be relaxed, he stated the exact same policy position
that Gangs and Organised Criminals hold. The policy the ensures that the
maximum possible profits flow into the Black-Market.
