Cookie Muncher comes to town to celebrate the Cookie Time Teddy Bears Picnic

New Zealand’s favourite Cookie Muncher is coming to Queenstown to celebrate the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival with a picnic for some of his young friends.
The Cookie Time Teddy Bears Picnic will be a free event for youngsters in the ‘enchanted forest’ of the Queenstown Events Centre from 11am-2pm on Sunday July 4.
Greeting children at the door will be the delightful Cookie Muncher, an unmissable bundle of energy with bright red fur, a permanent smile on his friendly face and arms just made for hugging.
Cookie Time recently opened its first Cookie Time store and Cookie Bar in the resort town and is thrilled to be taking part in its first ever festival.
Parents and children are invited to bring a picnic lunch and their favourite teddy bears for this indoors activity day where captivating storytellers, colourful face painters, songs a plenty and special guests will work their magic.
Competitions for the ‘Best Dressed Teddy Bear’ and the child with the ‘Most Teddy Bears’ will be held, and there will be a prize for the ‘Best Dressed Little Person’, awarded to the child who has made the best effort to dress up as their favourite character.
Cookie Time General Manager Lincoln Booth, speaking on behalf of the Cookie Muncher, said he was counting down the days to his first proper Queenstown party.
“He loves meeting children and can’t wait to see all the outfits and join in all the games,” he said.
Children can get their first glimpse of Cookie Muncher during festival week when he appears in the street parade on Saturday 26 June.
The innovative new store Cookie Time store has a ‘bar’ where customers can enjoy hot, freshly baked cookies, hot chocolates and ice cold milk on tap, all while listening to New Zealand music and revelling in views of Queenstown’s Village Green and surrounding mountains.
Cookie Time began 27 years ago when Kiwi brothers Guy and Michael Mayell developed New Zealand’s first giant cookie and delivered them to dairies in Christchurch. The company has since grown to become New Zealand's favourite cookie brand.
