Orcon launches free weekend calls

Relly alert! It’s a ‘no-excuses-for-not-calling’ weekend thanks to Orcon.

The Auckland-based telecoms company is launching four weekends of free unlimited residential direct dial calling from this Friday night*.

Here’s the fun part: Orcon chooses a different destination each weekend, and this week it’s Australia.

Starting Fridays at 6pm and running through to 8am Mondays Orcon customers can call the designated destination for free and speak for up to an hour.

“If you want to speak longer, set the timer and hang up after 59 minutes, then call back,” says Orcon’s Duncan Blair.

Orcon is announcing each weekend’s destination on the Tuesday prior on its website as well as the Orcon Twitter and Facebook pages.

“It’s simply a big winter thank you to the tens of thousands of Orcon residential customers who use our tolls service,” Blair says. “The destinations are four of our most popular; but you’ll need to check in online to find out where you can call the next weekend.”

*As is pretty normal with these sorts of promotions there are some conditions which Orcon can customers view on www.orcon.net.nz from today.
