Seeking Nominations for Golden Foot Awards
The second Living Streets Aotearoa’s Golden Foot Awards are underway, with nominations sought for local and national walking projects.
The awards showcase walking innovations, promote best practice in urban design and celebrate innovative ideas for walking in New Zealand. The Dunedin City Council is a Silver Sponsor for Golden Foot Awards, supporting the ‘Top Commitment to Walking by a New Zealand Organisation’.
The other three categories are ‘NZ Best Practice Walking Facility’, Best NZ Walking Promotion’ and ‘Best NZ Small Walking Project’.
The nominated project or promotion must have been undertaken in the 12 months to 30 June 2010 and judges will examine how accessibility has been considered in the planning and implementation of each project.
Nominations close on 30 June and can be made at www.livingstreets.org.nz/walking-awards2010-entry-form, and awards will be presented in August.
