Do you want to be part of the Rugby World Cup 2011 action?

Rugby World Cup organisers are calling for volunteers for this sporting spectacular in
New Zealand next year.

Those wanting to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity are invited attend a
volunteer roadshow at Waikato Stadium next Wednesday [30 June].

Two forums will be held in Waikato Stadium’s Radio Sport Room on Wednesday at
12.30pm-1.30pm and 5.30pm-6.30pm as part a national roadshow promoting the
RWC 2011 Volunteer Programme.

All potential volunteers are strongly advised to attend one of the forums to learn more
about what the various positions will involve.

More than 5,000 volunteers are needed throughout the country to host the thousands
of international and local visitors who will enjoy RWC 2011 when the tournament kicks
off in September next year.

RWC 2011 ambassador Michael Jones urged Waikato people to put their hand up:
“This Tournament will succeed through the efforts of all New Zealanders – we will be
a nation of four million hosts and volunteers will play an important role in helping the
country to welcome our international guests.”

There are a variety of volunteer roles available – from assisting with catering, sports
presentation and ceremonies within the venues, to helping visitors at hotels, fan zones
and transport hubs. All volunteers must be at least 17 years of age.
