Benefit to customers with payment of dog registrations extended by one month.

Council’s new financial management and information system is going live on 19 July.

Offices will be closed to the public on Monday 5 July to ensure all staff are familiar with the new system. Telephone calls during that day will be handled by our after-hours provider (Palmerston North City Council).

“Council needed to change to a new system when the previous supplier was bought out by a competitor, and ceased all development of the old system. The new system has better links between our many databases, making it easier for us to provide information for residents,” Manager Strategy & District Development, Peter Wimsett said.

To facilitate dog registrations, application notices are being posted out in late-July, one month later than normal and the last day for payment has also been extended by one month to 31 August 2010. Owners are invited to delay paying their dog registration fees until they receive their registration forms in the mail.”
