Water quality and wintering field day planned for Waipahi

The Otago Regional Council (ORC ) is holding a water quality and wintering field day for farmers in the Waipahi-Wairuna area on Friday 23 July, in association with the Waipahi stock water scheme committee.

The meeting place is Warren Erickson's woolshed, 320 Miller Road (opposite Hickey Rd turnoff), from 1pm to 3pm.

The afternoon will start with a presentation from ORC scientist Justin Kitto of results from the recent Pomahaka catchment water quality study, and continue with a discussion on best practice options for wintering stock, to be held on Warren and James Watt's properties.

Stream health and riparian management will also be covered.
