Ingram to replace Ryder in BLACKCAPS squad

New Zealand Cricket’s Selection Panel today announced Central Stags opener Peter Ingram as the replacement for the BLACKCAPS tour of Sri Lanka.

Ingram will travel to Darwin with the team on Friday where they will spend a week preparing for the One-Day International tri-series in Dambulla.

Commenting on Ingram’s inclusion, selector Mark Greatbatch said: “We considered a few played but felt that an experienced opener was required so Ingram got the nod.

“Aaron Redmond was in contention but was unavailable due to his wedding overseas and that opened the door for Ingram.

“Ingram played in our last ODI series against Australia at home and we were looking for top order cover to he was the natural choice.”
