NZSki appoints top Fisher and Paykel executive
Dunedin raised Craig Douglas has been appointed General Manager Sales & Marketing at NZSki Limited.
Currently Vice President Sales & Marketing at Fisher & Paykel Appliances, Mr Douglas is making the move to live permanently in the Wakatipu after landing a ‘dream job’.
“I’m personally thrilled to have this opportunity,” said Mr Douglas. “We had always planned to live in the Wakatipu – it feels like home to us. This appointment means I can carry on my career and enjoy the special lifestyle of the region.”
Mr Douglas has spent 14 years with Fisher & Paykel, 12 of those based in Auckland, and is highly experienced in international commerce, brand management and product development. Prior to joining Fisher & Paykel, Mr Douglas gained a degree in Agricultural Science before working in marketing & sales for DB where he was involved in the early days of Winter Festival promoting Kiwi Lager.
“The challenge for me will be to step across into a new industry and apply my commercial and corporate experience to skiing and the broader tourism industry. I have spent 14 years in a culture that values people and families and knows how to have fun while getting the work done; I look forward to working within a similar culture at NZSki.”
NZSki CEO James Coddington is delighted with the appointment.
“I am very excited to work with someone who has international experience in building brands and working with a wide variety of industry channels. Craig has been a vital part of an iconic New Zealand company and I look forward to working with him.”
45-year-old Mr Douglas will move to Arrowtown with his family and will take up his new role from August 30.
