Schlickeralmlauf 11.1km, 1400m+ Mountain Run – 25 July 2010
New Zealand’s six times world champion Jonathan Wyatt won the annual event in 1h 0m 33s, just over two minutes ahead of Robert Krupicka of Czech Republic.
Wyatt who holds the race record of 55m 31s set in 2004, has also won in 2003 (57m), 2005 (58m 41s), 2006 (58m 8s) and 2008 (58m 14s).
Wyatt’s wife Antonella Confortola of Italy won the women’s section in 1h 11m 43s. Anna Frost of New Zealand was second in 1h 13m 41s, with Tana Metelkova of Czech Republic third in 1h 14m 55s.
Next up for Wyatt was the Harakiri Berglauf 10.4km 1170m+ in Mayrhofen Austria, yesterday where he finished second in 51m 9s to Ahmet Arslan of Turkey who recorded 50m 39s. Wyatt then has two races in Norway, the Nuten Opp on 8 August and the Skaala Opp on 14 August. Wyatt has won the Nuten Opp for the last three years and Confortola the women’s section for the past two years.

Monique Williams, who will be competing in the 200m at the Commonwealth Games in October, won the 100m in 11.79s (+1.3). Melinda Cooksey of Birchfield was second in 11.98s.

Chicago Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon – 1 August 2010
Fiona Docherty continued her good form leading up to the Chicago Marathon on 10 October with a second placing and personal best of 1h 14m 42s in the Chicago Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon. Tera Moody of US won in 1h 13m 36s. Docherty was 41st at the World Championships in Berlin last year in 2h 40m 18s. Moody was 28th in Berlin in 2h 36m 39s and ninth in last year’s Chicago Marathon in 2h 32m 59s.

In the under 16 4 x 2.5km relay Papanui TocH won the boys, with Christchurch Avon Thunder the fastest team with 34m 16s. Phoenix won the girls relay with Christchurch Avon Tornadoes the fastest with 39m 52s. The fastest boy over the lap was Ben Musson B15 of Papanui TocH with 8m 5s and in the girls Zoe Ladd G14 of North Canterbury with 9m 29s.

Caversham White won the annual event from Hill City 1 and Hill City 2. Caversham Black (Bevan Stevens, Mitch Hopping, Daniel Balchin, Robert Brown, Lyndon Brown, Tony Payne, Glen Sutton, John Schreuder) were the fastest with 2h 6m 29s.
