Council decides in favour of further independent commissioners for New Chums hearing.

Two further independent commissioners have been appointed by the Thames-Coromandel District Council to the New Chums Beach resource consent hearing panel.

At last Wednesday's full Council meeting in Thames, councillors appointed additional independent commissioners to join Chair Paul Cooney to deal with procedural matters that may arise prior to or during the hearing.

The hearing will consider and determine the application to subdivide New Chums Beach and associated resource consents under the Resource Management Act 1991.
