Public Places Recycling Starts Here
The Otago Farmers’ Market is to host the Dunedin City Council’s first Public Places Recycling Stations.
The three stations will each have an organic waste collection bin for a worm farm, a bin for mixed recycling, and one for non-recyclable material, and will begin operation on site on 11 September this year.
For the first three weeks of operation, members of the local Girl Guides and Brownies will show the public how to use the station correctly, supporting their community and learning to care for their environment in the process.
The station fits in nicely with the Market’s waste Minimisation Policy and has been enthusiastically backed by stallholders.
