Motorists are advised of road works on Oue Street and sections of Ocean View Road in Oneroa on Waiheke Island, starting Monday, 10 September 2007.

This work will restore the surface of these busy roads and improve safety for all users. To minimise disruption to motorists, Matiatia Bay and ferry bound traffic will be diverted along Moa Avenue, Manuka Road and Mako Street. One lane of Ocean View Road between Mako Road and Moa Avenue, will remain open for inbound traffic.

Work will take place during the day from Monday to Saturday, between 7am and 6pm. After 6pm, motorists will be able to travel in both directions along this section of Ocean View Road but speed restrictions will be in place.

The road excavation, reshaping, stabilisation and resealing work is expected to take around 14 weeks to complete and is subject to weather conditions.

This year Auckland City Council will invest around $5 million on resealing and maintaining Waiheke Island's 140km road network.
