Work on a new Quest Serviced Apartment complex in the heart of Albany is set to begin, with a contract for construction recently signed between the accommodation group and property company Direct Property Fund.

The project, which is expected to cost just over $6million from planning to completion, will bring 38 fully serviced studio, one and two bedroom apartments to Albany Village and is the 29th property for the group across their New Zealand/ Fiji portfolio.

Quest Serviced Apartments New Zealand/ Fiji CEO Stephen Mansfield believes the move to Albany will be a real positive for the company and its clients.

“Albany has seen a lot of growth as both a business and leisure hub over the last few years, and our strategy is to follow our business customers so that Quest is everywhere they need to be,” says Mansfield. “Being in the heart of Albany Village, the new apartments will give guests easy access to a range of business, industrial, sporting and educational facilities in the surrounding area.

“We pride ourselves on delivering great service as well as great value for money and I believe the new premises will help us to deliver on those promises.”

Contractors Haydn&Rollett Construction will begin work on the four-level building on 1 November, with completion planned for early September of next year to coincide with the beginning of the Rugby World Cup.

Direct Property Fund Manager Simon Woodhams is optimistic about the possibilities for the new Albany complex.

“Direct Property purchased the land in 2007 after identifying the site and the Albany area on the whole as having real potential for growth. When Quest approached us to discuss starting a franchise in Albany we were pleased to be able to present them with the perfect solution,” says Woodhams.

“The deal is the second this year between Quest and Direct Property, with a new group of Quest Serviced Apartments having taken up residence in our Carlaw Park Business Precinct. We look forward to the opportunity to continue to build on the strong relationship between Quest and Direct Property,” he says.
