Positive Ageing - Wairau Hospital's New Main Entrance Opening Soon

The new main entrance to Wairau Hospital will be open and functioning very soon.

There will be another Open Day at the hospital - Tuesday 2 November from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm - so the public can look at the latest stage to be completed.

This is a chance for the public to see more of the new facilities, including the new Oncology and Outpatients areas, before the staff actually move in and begin work.   The new Outpatients is located between Radiology and the Laboratory on the main corridor, very close to the Main Entrance.

The main public point of access to the new hospital will be through the new Main Entrance from Monday 8 November onwards and the temporary entrances which have been operating for the last year will be closed.

The new entrance will have an undercover drop-off area for patients and visitors.  Immediately to the left will be a covered parking area for mobility scooters.

The main public parking space closest to the Main Entrance will continue to be off Gate 3, with parking in front of the Marlborough Orthopaedic Clinic and beneath the pine trees on the corner of Hospital and Maxwell Roads.
