Fonterra comments on resource consent application

Fonterra is reviewing its application to discharge water into the Mangatainoka River following public consultation.

Fonterra is committed to embedding sustainability into everything we do as a business.

We absolutely recognise the need to protect our waterways and are committed to the Manawatu River Accord.

We lodged our original consent applications more than two years ago.  Following consultation with the community, two months ago we decided to look at alternatives, such as irrigating to land or diverting through the local town waste treatment plant.

We will report back to the Horizons District Council on these alternatives in February.
