Bennett unlikely to bowl on day two

BLACKCAPS fast bowler Hamish Bennett is unlikely to bowl in the second day of the first Test against India in Ahmedabad after sustaining a groin strain while bowling yesterday.

The medical team said that it is too early to tell how serious the groin injury is and are providing ongoing assessment and treatment today.

Bennett said he was ‘gutted’ to be sidelined and will do everything he can to get fit so he can take part later in the Test match.
