With less than one week of voting remaining in Fonterra’s 2010 Elections, almost 20 per cent of votes have been cast.  Three Directors are being elected from five candidates for the Fonterra Board, two members of the Directors’ Remuneration Committee are being elected from three candidates, and one Shareholders’ Councillor from two candidates in wards 20 (Northern Taranaki), 24 (Southern Taranaki) and 30 (Northern Canterbury).

Voting closes at 10.30am on Tuesday, 16 November, which means shareholders are encouraged to now vote by internet or fax.

Shareholders are also reminded that they can still appoint a proxy, or vote online or by fax in respect of the Annual Meeting resolutions up until 10.30am on 16 November.

“I would like to encourage shareholders to take this opportunity to exercise their right to vote as soon as possible and have their say,” says Returning Officer Warwick Lampp.

“Any shareholder who has lost or not received their Voter Pack should contact the Returning Officer immediately for a replacement on the Election Hotline – free phone 0508 666 446.”

Online secure voting through Fencepost at www.fonterra.com is being used again this year with internet voting proving to be more popular than voting by fax.  “Online voting is a good option for those last minute voters due to the speed at which the vote can be processed,” says Mr Lampp.

Election results will be announced on Tuesday, 16 November 2010 by media release.

Any queries regarding the Fonterra Elections should be directed to the Election Hotline on free phone 0508 666 446.
