From hens free to roam in the natural shelter of trees.

Free range egg producer Woodland has unveiled an informative new website and launched a seasonal recipe campaign. It has also added a larger 15-egg carton to its offering, the perfect size for everyday use and entertaining, in addition to existing the six and 10-egg packs.

Along with recipe cards that will change with the seasons, the packaging incorporates a stand-out leaf-shaped wobbler that changes colour (along with the recipes) to mark each new season.

Each pack of Woodland free range eggs now comes with seasonally updated recipes to give shoppers creative new ideas for cooking with eggs. Current packs contain recipes for spring, including pizza with eggs, lime and berry tarts, scrambled eggs and spinach roulade.

The new www.glenpark.co.nz website features a video clip of the Glenpark free range farm and its manager, Karen Kelly, who has 12 years experience working with egg-laying hens. The site allows customers to take a virtual roam around the Glenpark farm through the technology of internet. It is also a great resource for egg facts, recipes and nutritional information and details Woodland's commitment to the environment and carton recycling tips.

Bernadette De Bono, Marketing Manager for Woodland, says Woodland's farming practices, feed and egg packaging all acknowledge the importance of having a minimal impact on the environment and the new recipe inserts encourage seasonal eating.

"We are committed to providing the freshest free range eggs that are naturally good for you. As soon as you taste an egg, you will recognise the difference. They work beautifully with seasonal ingredients, and we hope new recipes will provide inspirational new ideas for our customers," says De Bono.

"We're delighted to now bring customers even more choice with the introduction of our new 15-egg carton which is the perfect size for everyday use and entertaining."

Situated in the beautiful Otago region, the Glenpark free range farm is 24 hectares of pasture, dotted with hundreds of evergreen and deciduous trees that offer shade and shelter for its hens. Trees provide a safe environment so the hens can roam further afield and spend their days exploring, foraging and dust bathing in the shade and security of their own woodland. From this idyllic environment Woodland free range eggs are gathered daily and individually inspected before being distributed around New Zealand and overseas.

Woodland uses best-practice farming methods and equipment to guarantee the eggs produced are a consistently high standard. Freshness is paramount and Woodland eggs are collected twice daily from the farm's nesting boxes.
