Waitaki District Council Condolences Book for West Coast Mining tragedy
Waitaki District Council staff have set up a condolences book so that people of the District can convey their sympathies to the people of Greymouth in the wake of the Pike River disaster that killed 29 miners.
Customer Services Unit of Council welcomes members of the public to come to the reception area at Council HQ in Thames St, Oamaru to sign the book and express their feelings. Council will send the book of thoughts and signatures to Greymouth on a date to be decided.
Council will not accept donations at our Customer Services Unit. Any donations should be made to funds already set up.
