Orcon is adding managed services to its ever expanding portfolio of communications products with the asset purchase of Auckland-based Bizo.

Bizo focuses on the SME and Corporate markets with a range of services that Orcon says rounds out its business offering.

Orcon CEO Scott Bartlett says the two businesses have similar cultures and the acquisition will provide a sound financial base to grow Bizo’s services.

“This is good news for Orcon customers. They now have access to top-of-the-range, reliable and well-priced managed services within an integrated telecommunications company – a one-stop shop, if you will.

“Bizo has a great reputation for providing services designed to deliver real business benefits to customers. The business has been specifically set up to meet the unique needs of the SME market,” Bartlett says

Bizo’s 22 staff continue to operate out of the company’s Nelson St (Auckland CBD) offices. Bartlett says that while they are operating under the Orcon umbrella, Bizo will operate independently of Orcon retail, and it’s “business as usual” for Bizo clients.

Founded by Waynne Dartnall and Tim Mulcock, Bizo specialises in technology for commerce via online services utilising monthly subscriptions to take budgeting, cost and technology issues out of internet communications.

Bizo services cover digital connections, security, software and telecommunications with 24/7 support. The purchase price is undisclosed.
