Third Australian Player Joins ND
Dynamic international Twenty20 star David Warner makes his debut for the Yahoo!Xtra Northern Knights against the Otago Volts in Oamaru tomorrow.
Warner, Australia’s opening batsman in the short form of the game, subs in for David Hussey in the Knights' HRV Cup squad.
Hussey put in an excellent all-round display to help the Knights thrash the Auckland Aces on Sunday. However, commitments to his state side, Victoria, mean it is likely that game will be Hussey’s only appearance for the Knights.
Warner joins fellow Australian overseas player Brad Hodge (read more on Brad at http://www.howcricketchangedmylife.com/blogs/the-pink-report/entries/real-pros) in the squad. Under HRV Cup rules, teams can play up to two overseas players per match. The Yahoo!Xtra Northern Knights have also contracted the services of South African hard-hitter Herschelle Gibbs, who arrives later in the campaign.
Daniel Flynn’s recovery from a groin injury continues to progress well and a decision on his availability to play will be made later today.
The Yahoo!Xtra Northern Knights squad for Oamaru is:
James Marshall (Captain) Northland
Graeme Aldridge Bay of Plenty
Brent Arnel Counties Manukau

Anton Devcich Hamilton
Daniel Flynn Bay of Plenty
Brad Hodge Overseas Player
