New Zealand Cricket is pleased to announce Christina Ryan as the new manager for the New Zealand women’s cricket team, the White Ferns.

Ryan currently works closely with the team providing mental skills training and will take up the managerial role in time for the tour against Australia in late December.

Ryan has a background in sports psychology and lectures at CIPT. She is also working towards a PhD through Waikato University.

White Ferns coach Gary Stead said Ryan will add to the team dynamic. “Christina’s has skills to enhance the culture within the White Ferns,” he said. “We’ve worked with her in the past in a mental skills capacity and we know she will bring talents that will continually push us towards being a world class side.”

She is also an approved provider by the Academy of Sport and runs her own business called Mindfit Consulting which helps individuals reach their full potential in sport, life and business.
