New Zealand Cricket today announced that Daryl Tuffey has been added to the BLACKCAPS squad as bowling cover for the first Test match against Pakistan.

Tuffey has replaced Andy McKay, who recently sustained a side strain and has not been able to recover fully.

New Zealand Cricket media staff said McKay needs to get to a point where he can bowl pain free and for sustained periods. McKay is back bowling and but is not at a point where he can be considered for Test selection.

The addition of Tuffey is the only change to the squad announced on 22 December 2010.

The Test squad is:

Brent Arnel – Northern Knights
James Franklin – Wellington Firebirds
Martin Guptill – Auckland Aces
Chris Martin – Auckland Aces
Brendon McCullum – Otago Volts
Tim McIntosh – Auckland Aces
Jesse Ryder – Wellington Firebirds
Tim Southee – Northern Knights
Ross Taylor – Central Stags
Daryl Tuffey – Auckland Aces
Daniel Vettori – Northern Knights
Kane Williamson – Northern Knights
Reece Young – Canterbury Wizards

The first Test of the National Bank Series starts on 7 January at Seddon Park in Hamilton. A decision on the final playing eleven will be made closer to the start of the match.
