Northern Knights Primed For Volts Clash

The Yahoo!Xtra Northern Knights are determined to make hay while the sun shines when they meet the Otago Volts in Whangarei today in a crucial encounter in the national men's one-day competition.

When the Northern Knight last got in a full match, they were top of the points table. But a washout against the Volts in Invercargill and then an abandonment against the Wizards as a cyclone swept over the country earlier this week has seen them slip to fourth on the table - while the Volts, who were able to get in a game in Oamaru, have nudged ahead to the lead the country by a slender two points.

With four points on offer for a win, victory at Cobham Oval today will see the Knights catapult back into prime position as the battle for home semi-finals begins.
