Netball New Zealand and SKY Television confirm new Broadcasting Partnership
Netball New Zealand is excited to announce a new four-year broadcasting partnership with SKY, the largest commercial deal to be signed by a women’s sport in New Zealand. International and domestic Netball will now be shown exclusively LIVE on SKY Sport until 2015.
This partnership extends Netball’s broadcasting relationship with SKY, which already broadcasts the ANZ Championship, Lion Foundation Netball Champs and College Netball, supported by SKY Sport’s weekly Netball magazine style show On Court.
Netball New Zealand has also reviewed its free-to-air television partnership and is delighted to announce that Prime Television will be Netball’s new free-to-air partner.
NNZ Chief Executive Raelene Castle said “This is an exciting step for Netball New Zealand and we are thrilled with the opportunity to partner with SKY and Prime, which will provide many new opportunities and flexibility in scheduling across a variety of our netball events” she said.
“NNZ took a very considered approach in this decision, and the combination of SKY and free-to-air partner Prime TV offers fans the best option for both live and delayed coverage.”
SKY Chief Executive John Fellet said the evolution of the partnership cements SKY’s commitment to supporting sport at all levels. “We are excited to ensure quality netball coverage is available to the widest possible fan base through a range of broadcast options, including iSKY our new broadband offering and on mobile. I believe coverage of this exciting spectator sport offers great value to our Sport subscribers.” he said.
