Road closures due to flooding in the Waikato distric

Heavy rain overnight has caused a number of roads to be closed in the Waikato district.

Current roads that are closed are:

Waingaro Road – slip (being cleared now)
Hakarimata Road – slip (being cleared now) as well as flooding
Matira Road – No access as a slip crosses the road completely
Mile Bush Road – both flooding and a slip
Rotowaro Road – flooding
Waitetuna Valley Road – flooding
Parker Access Road – flooding
Huntly general area (low lying areas)
Ngaruawahia general area (low lying areas)

The roads listed have been signed posted and contractors Strada informed. Where slip damage had occurred roads will be cleared as soon as practicable.
