Waimarama residents advised to boil and conserve water

Waimarama residents are being asked to conserve water due to problems at the local reservoir.

The reservoir has fallen to 20 percent of its capacity after problems have been caused by the heavy rain which has fallen overnight.

All water for drinking and cooking should be boiled until further notice.

Residents are being asked to conserve water until advised otherwise and should not take showers or baths, avoid doing the laundry or flushing the toilet.

Once again, drinking water should be boiled until further notice.
