New $12.4 million warehouse facility for Toll Global Forwarding continues strong property development momentum

Auckland Airport today announced a new property partnership with Toll Global Forwarding, a business unit of Toll Holdings Limited (Australia) that specialises in the import and export of goods by both air and sea, and is regarded as the largest mover of non-perishable airfreight in New Zealand.

Peter Alexander, the General Manager Property for Auckland Airport, said, “Toll Global Forwarding is a high quality international business whose move to “The Landing” adds considerably to the already high quality of international tenants in this precinct of the Auckland Airport Business District.”.

Auckland Airport will build a new warehouse and distribution facility on Verissimo Drive. This will be Toll Global Forwarding’s New Zealand Head Office and will comprise nearly 5,000 square metres of warehouse and over 1,750 square metres of office.

Alexander said, “This partnership with Toll Global Forwarding delivers further momentum to our property development strategy, and adds another high-quality international business to our portfolio.”

Toll Group Holdings is one of the top four IATA (International Air Transport Association) airfreight forwarders in New Zealand, and is the largest mover of non-perishable airfreight in New Zealand.

“Auckland Airport is expected to grow significantly faster than the regional and national economies over the next two decades – which we think is a very attractive proposition for ambitious businesses like Toll,” said Alexander, “Today, nearly every single industry in New Zealand is reliant in some way on air transport and the need for ease and speed when delivering goods and services. This means that Auckland Airport is an ideal place for people to do business.”

Toll will join Expeditors, NZ Van Lines, Mercedes, DSV and the New Zealand Food Innovation Centre who have already located in The Landing.

With more than 18 million people passing through each year, and tipped for stronger than average growth over the next decade, businesses such as Toll are seeing the Auckland Airport Business District as the best place to locate.

“We believe Auckland Airport has a pivotal part to play in helping Auckland realise its long-term ambitions as a global city, and our property development activity through partnerships such as this will play a role in that”, said Alexander.
