No by-election needed in Hokonui Constituency

Due to a clerical error, voters in the Hokonui Constituency will notice on the voting papers received recently that it states there will be a by-election for the Hokonui Constituency.

Environment Southland Electoral Officer Phil Culling said this is incorrect as the Hokonui Constituency only has one member and Mr Dugald Stuart Collie has been elected unopposed to the Southland Regional Council (Environment Southland).

“I apologise for this error and any inconvenience that it may have caused”, he said. ENDS
