When it comes to creating wines Ti Point Winemaker Tracy Haslam is always looking to produce wines with layers of flavour which can be enjoyed any time of day. The two most recent releases from this boutique winery, 2010 Ti Point Merlot Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc are perfect wines to savour at any occasion.

With its blood red appearance the 2010 Merlot Cabernet is a rich bouquet of ripe cherries, dark chocolate with hints of spice and leather. The palate is sweet however it balances out with a soft acid touch to finish.

According to Tracy the 2010 vintage, produced from grapes which were sourced from the Ti Point vineyard on the Matakana Coast was exceptional with the result a well balanced wine which can be enjoyed with creamy or tomato based pasta dishes and grilled fish.

The 2010 Ti Point Sauvignon Blanc is fragrant, dry, full bodied wine which can be served now or cellared for a few years to reach its full potential. A classic Sauvignon Blanc which can be served chilled in winter as an aperitif or celebrated in summer and served with a fresh seasonal salad.

Grapes for the 2010 Sauvignon Blanc were sourced from Marlborough which had an exceptional harvest. This wine has smooth developed characters of rich fruit giving it a generous texture, followed by a lingering clean citrus finish. The nose speaks of summer with classic gooseberry and fresh cut grass mingled with hints of stone fruit and minerals.

The 2010 Ti Point Merlot Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc are available now at wine outlets nationwide. RRP $22.99
